Quantum computers promise large speedups for different specific tasks in computing. This talk will give an overview of what quantum computers are, what they do, and how they work, from an algorithmic perspective. We will start with some basics, continue through some quantum computer algorithms, and finally look at the algorithms’ inner workings.
