Addel has the opportunity to revolutionize the way we build charging stations. In collaboration with RISE, which has conducted an analysis to measure carbon emissions for each installation of a module, the company has developed a unique solution. The module replaces street paving and eliminates the need for excavation, enabling faster installations with reduced environmental impact.
Per Ranch, Co-founder at Addel, explains one main challenge on today’s market with charging stations:
“It is challenging to generate profit from investments in charging stations due to high costs.”
Addel’s vision is to create a more affordable and sustainable solution that can be used for charging electric cars, e-bikes, and e-scooters. In the long term, the company also hopes to expand the technology for other purposes, such as providing electricity to park benches for mobile phone charging.
Addel has been granted test bed vouchers that make this test project possible, in partnership with Rise. Through test bed vouchers, that are handed out by Linköping municipality, small and medium-sized enterprises in the climate and energy sectors are given the opportunity to test their products in real-world environments. Currently, Addel is in the testing phase and is looking for a suitable location in Linköping to trial its module. Addel looks forward to contributing to a more sustainable future by making charging stations accessible to all.
