5G positioning for resilience and industry applications

5G is intended to address several industrial use cases and needs, and one standardized enabler is positioning. Network-assistance to enable precise GNSS positioning is one option. There are also several other 5G cellular network-based methods to support positioning indoors and outdoors to complement GNSS and to provide a reliable alternative. All these methods enable exposure via Network API to allow network applications to interact with the cellular network in a standardized way for positioning information. Furthermore, some trials and use cases will be discussed, for example UAV coordination, logistics, automotive, etc.
