We’re excited to introduce our newest team members, Joakim Falkäng and Yvonne Rosmark! We sat down with them to learn more about their background and their new roles here at Linköping Science Park. Let’s get to know them better!

Could you give us a snapshot of your professional background?

Joakim: You could say that the theme for my career is innovation. I have conducted research and taught about innovation, been involved in starting a few companies with a solid level of technology, and worked in various roles within the innovation system—both as a consultant to government agencies and from the inside, as I do at Linköping Science Park.

Yvonne: I´m born and raised in Linköping, but have worked internationally most of my life. I got my degree at Linköpings University and then started working for Saab. I joined as a trainee and when I left 21 years later I was CEO of Gripen International. I then took on the role as Director of Trade and Industry at Linköping municipality. After five years I decided to follow my dream and started my own business Global Footprint, where I wanted to make an impact on organisations and people, but as little footprint as possible. For the past two years I have been the Program Director of Innovair, a Strategic Innovation Program (SIP) which gathers the different stakeholders within aeronautics in order to support research & innovation to meet the challenges the aviation industry is facing for example when it comes to the green deal.

What inspired your decision to join Linköping Science Park?

Joakim: Even though I’m not a “östgöte”, I’ve always kept an eye on Mjärdevi and Linköping. Linköping is probably the most tech-intense environment in Sweden, where companies evolve and grow. It’s a privilege to be a part of the tech-sector and strong industry clusters.

Yvonne: I see a lot of possibilities for synergies between Innovair and other programs that Linköping Science Park run, so I´m very happy to have joined the Linköping Science Park team.

What is your focus here at Linköping Science Park?

Joakim: I work primarily with Swedish Scaleup, which is a type of accelerator program for tech companies in Östergötland that have already made some progress. In addition, I am involved in a national program aimed at securing water access in Sweden – Water Wise Societies.

Yvonne: My focus will be to continue my role as Program Director of Innovair. We are currently gathering all the results Innovair has achieved over the years. From those we will draw our lessons learned and report back to Vinnova and our stakeholders as the SIP will end in two years. The plan is that Innovair will continue in a new form.

What do you hope to achieve in your new role?

Joakim: Linköping Science Park works with major societal challenges, which makes it easy to stay motivated in our work.

Yvonne: I want to make the most out of the final phase of the program and make sure that Innovair will be a viable program also in the future, as aeronautics is a key strength we have in Sweden.

We’re thrilled to have Joakim and Yvonne on board and can’t wait to see the impact they will make. Welcome to the team!
