With great sadness and a heavy heart, we receive the news that our friend Fredrik Löfgren has suddenly left us. Fredrik was an enthusiast who worked tirelessly to spread knowledge, joy and curiosity about technology and science. Through his commitment, he has influenced countless people, especially young people, by inspiring them to dare to dream big and explore new worlds.

Fredrik was a unique individual who combined a deep understanding of technology with a strong passion for human relations and social issues. His work with initiatives such as RoboCup, Mattekollo and several associations, many of which he founded himself, has left a deep impression. He firmly believed in creating inclusive environments where everyone could grow and develop regardless of background.

His positivity and sense of purpose were infectious, and he constantly reminded us of the importance of maintaining a curious approach to life, even in challenging times. Fredrik had a knack for seeing the big in the small and making us all feel seen and heard.

Those of us who had the privilege of working with Fredrik through any of the projects he and Linköping Science Park were involved in will deeply feel his absence. His spirit and vision will continue to guide us and the work we do. Fredrik’s passion for technology will be a perpetual source of inspiration. Our thoughts are with Fredrik’s family and close friends during this challenging time.
Fredrik, your absence will be deeply felt. Rest in peace, and thank you for all you have given us. We are committed to upholding your legacy and keeping your vision alive.

A memorial table with a condolence book is available for those who wish to leave a final message on the ground floor of Mjärdevi Center in Linköping.

One of many associations Fredrik has left a significant mark is MakersLink, Linköping’s own Makerspace. In true maker spirit, the association has produced a drawing of a small robot angel in Fredrik’s memory. The angel can be cut and folded from a regular A4 printed on paper. Read more about it on the makersLink wiki.
