3rd Audiovisual Symposium 2026 on the 26-27 November 2026 at Linköping University, Campus Norrköping, Sweden.
The Audiovisual Symposium is an open and exploratory forum that invites researchers, educators, and artists to engage with what defines audiovisual studies today. Crossing boundaries between the humanities, arts, and technology, it brings forward a rich range of perspectives—from film, music, and performance to design, media technology, and interactive systems—while showcasing contemporary audiovisual practice through artistic experimentation, theoretical reflection, and technological innovation, highlighting new ways of thinking, creating, and experiencing sound and image in relation to each other.
The symposium was first organized in 2022 at Högskolan Dalarna and held again in 2024 at the same venue. It is now hosted at the campus in Norrköping, Linköping University, offering a new context for continued exchange across research, artistic practice, and education.

Multimedia artist and composer-performer at the intersection of sound, installation art and electroacoustic composition
Johan Lundberg is active as a multimedia artist and composer-performer at the intersection of sound, installation art and electroacoustic composition. In recent years, his focus has been on treatment of sound in spatial installations and/or performances. He enjoys working collaboratively in interdisciplinary artistic contexts which will be a topic discussed during his talk at the symposium.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the Academy of Music in Malmö and a master’s degree in composition with a focus on electroacoustic music from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
