The position

With a commitment to innovation and excellence, Toyota Material Handling Europe strives to deliver cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving needs of its customers. We are now seeking a driven and dynamic Intellectual Property Engineer to join our Patent organisation. This role is pivotal in shaping our patent strategy and ensuring the protection of our intellectual property rights. As part of our Technology Administration Office, you’ll be part of a European team with a global outlook, contributing to technological innovation and monitoring competitor activities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patent and intellectual property matters within the R&D department in Sweden.
  • Foster an Intellectual Property culture throughout the company.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team and IP Consulting to develop new patents.
  • Draft high-quality patent applications to safeguard our intellectual property rights effectively.
  • Evaluate and assess inventions.
  • Conduct thorough patent searches and analyse prior art to determine patentability and freedom to operate.
  • Prepare regular reports for R&D management and other stakeholders.

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in R&D, either as a technical/researcher or innovation specialist.
  • Thrives in working in multidisciplinary and diverse teams’ environments.
    Strong capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Previous experience as an Intellectual Property Engineer is a plus.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Swedish and English is essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.
