The Technology Administration Office (TAO) is responsible to guarantee the fulfillment of Environmental Regulations as well as making sure the Toyota Material Handling Europe’s (TMHE) business model is sustainable and applicable to TMHE Products. We work to ensure this by introducing and implementing strategies, practices, guidelines, and methods with the aim of increasing the environmental performance and reducing the environmental impact of THME Products, as well as securing an environmental mindset for Research & Development employees.

The position
You will join a global company under continuous development where you will play a pivotal role in driving environmental advancements in Toyota Material Handling’s products across the organization. You’ll represent our department in Toyota forums, advocating for environmental considerations throughout the product development lifecycle. Furthermore, a key task is to act on behalf of TMHE in the development of environmental related Norms and Regulations through manufacturer associations. As ambassador for a more sustainable culture in the overall R&D transformation the position will occasionally require travel, primarily within Europe.

Your responsibilities will additionally include:

  • Serving as a technical advisor on environmental policies and standards to ensure regulatory applicability on TMHE products.
  • Support the implementation of new regulations for TMHE products compliance.
  • Develop procedures and processes for improving the product environment performance.
  • Measure and Report environmental performance.
  • Add new mindset emphasizing the importance of the environmental considerations into R&D function, prepare and sustain training and courses.

Your profile

  • Good Knowledge on Design for Environment practices and LCA, including software dedicated (e.g. SimaPro).
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, best practices, and ability to apply them.
  • Strong ability to work in multidisciplinary team.
  • A work philosophy based on a practical, hands-on, solution-oriented approach, comfortable with a diverse set of people and high integrity.
  • Experience in a similar position is considered a plus.
  • A master’s degree within engineering is a requirement.
  • Fluency in English on a professional level is a requirement.
  • Fluency in Swedish on a professional level is a requirement.
