Stepping into an organization like Linköping Science Park can at first feel like walking through a labyrinth of clusters, projects and complex structures. But after an 18-week internship at the communications department, the puzzle pieces have fallen into place. It has been a journey filled with great variety, but also with an important lesson: the art of taking a step back to move forward.
Having an internship at the communications department at Linköping Science Park is not only a great opportunity to develop your communication journey, it is also a golden opportunity for a crash course in the tech areas of the future. During my time here, I have gained deeper insights into fields like cyber security, AI, total defense and IoT.
During the internship, the tasks have offered a great deal of variety. The role has spanned many areas of communication, ranging from social media and web design to conducting interviews, writing articles and organizing events.
A consistent feature throughout these 18 weeks has been the high level of trust and freedom with responsibility. Instead of just observing, I have had a lot of space to independently plan my work and take on new tasks. I have also had many interesting and rewarding conversations about communication and marketing, where I got to learn from the team’s knowledge and experience. One major lesson that I am taking with me is the importance of being able to step back in a project.
“Sometimes you start running at full speed, but in the wrong direction. It is often valuable to stop and evaluate if you are running the right way. It is never too late to repackage a message!”
Behind all the projects and deadlines, the people are what truly make the workplace. The organization and the communications team consist of a group of incredibly knowledgeable, driven and wonderful people.
“I am so grateful to have worked with such a competent and warm team. They did not just share their expertise, they made me feel like a natural part of the group from day one.”
Now that the 18 weeks have come to an end, I leave Linköping Science Park with a significantly broader perspective and plenty of new skills. For anyone looking for a challenging, educational and, above all, welcoming internship, Linköping Science Park is the right choice!
