The Italy-Sweden Bilateral Workshop on Smart Sensor Technologies and Applications, hosted by the Italian Embassy in Sweden at Linköping University, took place from 1 to 2 Oktober. The event brought together experts and stakeholders from both countries to explore advancements in smart sensor technology and foster bilateral collaboration. The Italian Ambassador to Sweden, Michele Pala, participated in the workshop, highlighting the significance of strengthening technological and innovation ties between the two nations.
As part of the workshop, Linköping Science Park CEO Lena Miranda participated in a roundtable discussion on future opportunities for collaboration. The discussion focused on how Sweden and Italy could further integrate their innovation ecosystems to drive progress in key sectors. It emphasized the role of cooperation between academia, industry, and research institutions in accelerating technological advancements.
Linköping Science Park has already established connections with several Italian innovation hubs, including NOI Techpark in Bolzano and Kilometro Rosso in Bergamo. Earlier this year, representatives from Linköping Science Park and our incubator LEAD visited these hubs to explore best practices in digitalization and open innovation, among other things. These relationships provide a foundation for ongoing and future collaborations between the innovation ecosystems of both countries.
The event underscores the importance of international cooperation in developing smart technologies, which will play a crucial role in addressing global challenges. Sweden and Italy remain committed to fostering innovation and creating partnerships that will benefit their respective industries and research communities in the future.
