Today, mentors and mentees from the 2024/2025 edition of the reverse mentorship program Brilliant Mentors of the Future gathered for a closing breakfast at Stångs Mjärdevi.

The atmosphere was lively as participants mingled and exchanged insights over a delicious breakfast. Louise Felldin, Director of Economic Development at Linköping Municipality, and Lena Miranda, CEO of Linköping Science Park, delivered inspiring closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of cross-generational knowledge sharing.

“There have never been as many generations working side by side as there are today. Knowledge exchange is more important than ever,” Lena Miranda pointed out.

Two of this year’s participants, Ludvig Langenskiöld, student and mentor, and Karl Anders Falk, mentee and Lead Product Manager at BMC Software, shared their reflections on the program:

“It’s been incredibly educational. I’ve learned what it means to be a mentor,  to be a sounding board, ask thoughtful questions, listen actively, and guide conversations toward meaningful discussions,” said Ludvig.

“Ludvig asked questions that challenged me to think deeply and articulate my thoughts. That’s the essence of mentorship, being encouraged as a mentee to reflect and put your ideas into words,” said Karl.

“We discussed everything from AI and the future of work to how different generations approach challenges,” said Ludvig in conclusion.

Applications for the upcoming round of the program are now open. Apply today and become part of a forward-thinking mentorship experience!

How does the program work?

Brilliant Mentors of the Future is a reversed mentorship program where professionals from Linköping companies are paired with students from Linköping University. In this setup, the students take on the role of mentors, offering insights on leadership, innovation, and the future of work. Through structured discussions, professionals get the chance to see challenges from a new angle, while students gain valuable connections and real-world experience.
