You might have seen one or several of the new murals that started to appear around in Östergötland during last fall? They are part of the project FORM run by the nonprofit organisation Artscape. But did you know that you can make the art come alive just by using your phone or tablet?
Augmented Reality (AR) is an elevated version of the physical world that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli delivered via technology. Maybe you played the popular game Pokemon Go that uses AR to put the pokemons in our physical world when we look through our smartphones. In the project ARTSCAPE FORM they used AR to make the art come alive.
AR is taking a bigger role in the contemporary urban art scene and ARTSCAPE FORM is the first large-scale project of it’s kind.
