About the company

Dataton has developed professional audio-visual products designed to enrich the visitor experience for more than 40 years. Dataton’s flagship product is the WATCHOUT multi-display system which is used worldwide to create, control and deliver spectacular productions across multiple display areas. Job description

This role is both operational and strategic. As part of your daily routine, you will support customers all over the world, primarily through our service desk, together with the support group. This currently consists of two employees based in Hong Kong and the United States, and Support Lead based in Linköping. You will work closely with the entire team and report directly to the Development Manager. As our customers are professional users, support is at a high technical level, resolving complex issues rather than simply providing instructions to insert the cord. Sometimes our customers encounter problems in the run-up to a live event in front of thousands of spectators. In those situations, you need to be able to think quickly and logically to find a sustainable solution, before guiding the customer in the right direction.

You will also be tasked with developing and improving the support organization. Our goal is to ensure Dataton and its products are always associated with quality, user-friendliness and reliability. The support team works pro-actively, keeping up-to-date on product applications and what is important for our customers.

The position is based in Linköping, which is where the R&D department is also located.


Your profile

You have prior experience providing technical support and share our vision for a customer-centric support organization. You have a knack for communication and education, a well-developed service mind-set and, not least, a positive attitude.

To succeed in this role, you must be interested in technology at large, with a basic understanding of everything from servers and networks, to audio and video. This is a customer-facing support role which means you need to be problem solver, not afraid to trouble-shoot and test potential solutions.

You will be working in an international environment in an ever-changing industry. You may have to travel abroad to visit projects or trade shows to gain a better understanding of our customers and their reality.

The role requires a candidate who is thorough and pays attention to detail, but also has a good measure of imagination and curiosity. As you will have daily contact with customers all over the world, you need to speak and write English fluently. Previous experience of Dataton products and relevant (technical) educational qualifications are preferred, but not required.
