We at NIRA believe in making roads safer by developing sophisticated software solutions for a transforming automotive industry. Our products give the customers a real-time view of friction and road surface condition and we deliver our services to many of the biggest car manufacturers. We also cooperate with organisations responsible for road maintenance to allow them to quickly respond to rapidly changing local surface conditions.

The team
You will be working in a team, focusing on the development of our cloud platform called Road Surface Information (RSI). In RSI we are building cloud-based products by collecting uploaded data from an ever-increasing number of vehicles with our friction measuring software installed, combining this with map data and other sources of information to be able to produce relevant insights. The platform is built with modern but proven technologies such as kubernetes, AWS, Flink and CI/CD.
You will work within a Scrum team where you in close cooperation with your colleagues will be responsible for taking the ideas and concepts all the way from the drawing board to running and maintaining it in our backend. The team consist of one Scrum master, one Product Owner and four Developers – a great mix of competencies and experiences!
This is what you will do
Together with the team you will focus on developing our products aimed for the automotive industry. Some of the tasks you will be involved in are:
- Development of algorithms for road condition detection based on vehicle fleet data
- Participation in discussions with customers and suppliers, both from the office and visits to external customers
- Operation and monitoring of data collection and calculation systems
- Implementation of vehicle data aggregation pipelines
- Analysis and visualization of vehicle fleet data
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, we believe you to understand the value of building relationships and finding new ways of solving problems, both with customers and your colleagues. We are looking for you if you have a degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
Your experience shall include:
- Scala, Java or equivalent modern programming language
- Object-oriented programming
- At least one scripting language and system language’
It is an advantage if you also have work experience or knowledge within eg. cloud-based products/ Automotive industry/BigData and/or Test-driven development.
