Pugstorm

🏢 Linköping-based with flexible work-from-home options.

The Role

As Principal Platform Engineer at Pugstorm, you take end-to-end ownership of how to deliver our games to all platforms (PC and consoles). You work hands-on with porting, platform requirements, build pipelines, and release tooling, while collaborating closely with engineering, QA, production, and publishing.

You are responsible for ensuring release quality and reliability: from verifying feasibility of new features on all platforms to platform certification, release submissions, hotfixes, and post-launch support. You design scalable release frameworks, do the work yourself when needed, and grow processes and teams as our portfolio expands.

A significant portion of your time will be spent inside the engine and on dev kits, porting new builds, debugging platform-specific issues, and technically validating the game on target hardware. You are expected to take ownership of any platform specific problems and escalate when needed.

This is a senior, high-trust role for someone who understands the full release lifecycle and wants to own it end to end!

🛠 Must-have skills:

  • Multiple years of experience shipping software, ideally games.
  • Strong software engineering skills and the ability to troubleshoot deep in the tech stack.
  • Expert at understanding technical requirements and parsing documentation.
  • Great at communicating with multiple stakeholders.

✨ Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Unity.
  • Experience with porting work, including certification.
  • Proven optimization experience (CPU, GPU, memory, and/or other hardware specifics).
  • Experience with rendering pipelines, especially if you have experience with consoles specifically.
  • CI/CD experience, using and/or implementing automatic builds using Github Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity or similar.
  • Experience integrating network solutions like Playfab.
