Linköping and Östergötland the new hub for Semiconductor Technology

From electric vehicles, renewable energy, and mobile phone manufacturing to robotics, radar systems, AI, and the Internet of Things – semiconductors are at the heart of all technological development. They are a common denominator in the green transition – and the race is on to secure resilient supply chains. What is the impact of geopolitics on the semiconductor industry – and how can we strengthen resilience and minimize volatility and risk?
Östergötland holds strong expertise in this field, with research leading to several spin-offs, while international R&D companies have chosen our region to establish themselves close to the talent at Linköping University. Together, we take a closer look at the semiconductor industry in Östergötland and discuss our strengths and challenges, opportunities and threats.
