About this opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mixed Signal and RF IC System Engineer with expertise in systemization, top-level chip design, mixed-signal IC design, and a deep understanding of RFIC and mixed-signal requirements allocation to join Ericsson’s dynamic and innovative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of sophisticated RFICs and mixed-signal ICs, including data converters, for next-generation wireless communication systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects and contribute to the success of Ericsson, a global leader in telecommunications technology!

You will take a leading technical role in a design project, collaborate and communicate efficiently with your teammates and stakeholders, and share your knowledge and experience with the team.

What you will do:

  • Lead the systemization and top-level design of RF integrated circuits and mixed-signal ICs, ensuring flawless integration with overall system architectures.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define system requirements, partitioning, and chip-level trade-offs, with a keen understanding of RFIC and mixed-signal requirements allocation.
  • Drive architectural exploration and innovation to optimize performance, power consumption, and area efficiency at the chip level.
  • Systemize link budget analysis and data converter performance requirement breakdown to ensure optimal mixed-signal and RFIC performance in system-level applications.
  • Design and optimize data converters, including ADCs and DACs, ensuring high fidelity and low distortion for mixed-signal applications.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Work closely with design, verification, and physical implementation teams to ensure successful tape-out of RFICs and mixed-signal ICs.

The skills you bring:

  • Master’s, Ph.D. degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in RFIC and mixed-signal IC design.
  • Strong expertise in mixed-signal circuit design, particularly focused on data converters such as ADCs and DACs.
  • Solid knowledge of RFIC architectures and design techniques for transmitters, receivers, and frequency generation.
  • Proficiency in system-level modelling and simulation tools for mixed-signal and RF performance analysis, allocation and management of RFIC requirements to meet system-level specifications
  • Solid understanding of product development and RFIC and mixed-signal IC E2E development flow, with an innovative approach, adapting and responding to change.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others.
  • Experience in top-level chip integration, floor planning, and chip-level physical design considerations.

Other qualities

  • Familiarity with RFIC testing and debugging techniques and hands-on experience with RF lab measurements and characterization equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of FinFET process technologies and experience with deep submicron CMOS and RF CMOS process technologies.
  • Experience in electromagnetic analysis, simulation, and modelling of passive structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of communication standards such as 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
