Following Northvolt’s recent closure, many skilled individuals – including a large number of international workers – are now facing the risk of unemployment. Without new jobs, many may also lose their right to stay in Sweden within 90 days.
To respond quickly, the nonprofit initiative Beredskapslyftet is stepping in to help match displaced talent with new employers.
What is Beredskapslyftet?
Beredskapslyftet (“The Readiness Initiative”) was launched during the pandemic by the Wallenberg Foundations, Novare, and Sophiahemmet. Its mission: to mobilize Sweden’s business community and connect skills to where they’re needed most.
How it works for employers
Beredskapslyftet offers a simple and effective process for employers to connect with the right candidates:
-
Initial screening – Beredskapslyftet reviews and pre-selects candidates.
-
First contact – Selected candidates are invited to an introductory meeting.
-
Matching – Suitable profiles are shared directly with you, and you take over the recruitment process from there.
The initiative runs until summer 2025 and focuses especially on third-country nationals who have 90 days to secure new employment.
Why it matters
This is not just about filling roles – it’s about keeping valuable talent in Sweden, supporting people who have already chosen to build a life here, and helping your company grow at the same time.
If you’re open to meeting motivated, qualified professionals ready to contribute – this is your chance to make a difference.
