Mapping test environments

A survey of test environments linked to the Region Östergötland’s strength areas has been completed in the summer of 2016. The purpose has been to get to know which test environments exist within our strengths and strong clusters / industries – thus making them accessible to more by increasing visibility. A comprehensive report has been prepared, which maps out about 70 environments. In a next step, we will supplement in-depth interviews about whether there are test environments – and where we have / need to establish test beds.

The goal in the short term is that the preliminary results will lead to a full-scale project in future announcements within eg. Vinnova, the Swedish Growth Agency or through other announcements. Long-term goals are that the eastern companies in our industries will have access to good and easy-to-use test environments and resource personnel to enhance their development efforts. This, in turn, leads to increased growth by developing more ideas into prototypes, and that more prototypes develop into finished products and business. The assignment was financed by the Region Östergötland.

Social Impact Gateway

Science Park Mjärdevi wants to create an arena for gathering social entrepreneurs with experience, recently established companies and students of the university-driven social entrepreneurial incubator. Together we will define the tools and competencies they need to develop new ideas and solutions which are contained in a so-called ”Social Makerspace”. We want to create a community around social entrepreneurship, and get different groups to meet each other and share experiences about developing business models, financing, development of processes, etc. The project has been granted funding from Linköping municipality and will last until 2018.

For those who have already begun this trip, it is about getting the power and knowledge to move on. The project is run by Mjärdevi Science Park in collaboration with the LEAD and Hyper Island incubator.
